Martin Buckland is responsible for building and growing ADAS’s Environmental business through the development of its client focussed product matrix covering a wide range of government and corporate clients and eight service product areas.

Jackie Evans is responsible for sales activity with all Government sector clients for the Environment Group within ADAS and she is also responsible for the Bid Management Group for the whole of ADAS

Ray is a senior Manager within the Environment Group and leads the sales team dealing primarily with corporate clients. 

Andrew Walker is the Business Unit Manager for ADAS’s Animal Health and Welfare with overall responsibility for the Business Unit’s delivery of livestock policy advice, research services and facilities management for both government and corporate clients.   

Brian Merrell is ADAS’ head of business development for animal health and welfare and is an expert in policy and research issues in respect of ruminant livestock farming.

James Clarke BSc (Hons) Agric is ADAS’ science and business development manager for sustainable crop management. 

Chris currently undertakes a combined role of ADAS Service Product Manager and Service Product Leader for the Water Group. 

Simon Jewell an experienced crop and livestock research scientist, project and quality manager currently leads a specialist animal health research sales and account management team.

Alison Riding is a Principal Environmental Scientist with over 15 years’ research and consultancy experience.  Her current role is as Manager of Environmental Informatics, a new group within ADAS set up to broaden our GIS, modelling and software development offer to clients across the Environmental Sector.

Rosemary has responsibility for the development of ADAS Environment Group work with clients in regional and local government and takes the lead on winning and managing projects across a range of specialisms.

Having had responsibility for the management of the Defra network account for more than 14 years, John has a unique knowledge of the Department’s activities and staff, together with a deep understanding of the key policy issues at the interface between the food chain, land management and the environment.

Colin Reith has 25 years experience engaging with the water industry across Europe and has been involved with projects involving research, field trials, regulation and treatment of both water and wastewater.

David Lancaster is an ADAS Business Manager responsible for sales and business development in both the food supply chain and chemical manufacturing sectors, both with corporate and public sector clients.

Jon Abbatt is an experienced project and business development manager with over 15 years experience of working with utility, highways, rail and developer clients.

Roy has overall responsibility for business development with Electricity, Gas and Telecoms companies. He specialises in vegetation management (policy and operational advice) to the electricity industry and his work includes regular advice to the electricity industry regulator – Ofgem.

David Middleditch is a senior environmental consultant working with a range of public and private sector clients.  He has particular experience in the management of farmland habitats, and also in extension work and contract management

Adrian Collins is a Principal Research Scientist in the Environment Group, ADAS, who has worked for 16 years in researching catchment diffuse pollution and its management.

Initially from an organic chemistry, molecular biology and natural product discovery background, Adrian has been involved specifically in the agrochemical industry since 1990, as an environmental fate chemist. 

Barbara provides expert advice on nuisance insects to Defra and Local Authorities and has an international reputation as a specialist in fly and red mite control for the poultry industry, regularly acting as an expert witness in court cases and Planning Inquiries.

Brian has over 20 years of experience undertaking applied and policy driven research for the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the Environment Agency (EA), Food Standards Agency (FSA), Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), Scottish Government and other government departments, corporate bodies, farmers and growers in the UK.

Bill Parker is head of ADAS’ Horticulture and is also an expert on issues relating to pesticide use and integrated pest management.

Dr Neil Paveley is a specialist in all aspects of plant disease and control and is a Defra Fellow in plant pathology. 

Brian Angell is the Head of Agriculture and Rural Advice for the Environment Group in ADAS.  He provides leadership for a team of Farm Business Consultants and a larger group of staff who deliver technology transfer programmes to land based industries.

John is a senior agricultural economist, leading the economics and policy offer for ADAS. He specialises in evaluation of food, farming and land use policy and its impact on the farming industry, wider rural economy and the environment.

William Little is a Chartered Environmental Surveyor specialising in EIA and development for a wide range of projects.  He has particular experience in the legislation surrounding EIA and their application and has written guidance for the RICS and the Highways Agency

Tim O’Neill  is an expert in horticultural crop diseases and technology transfer particularly with respect to protected crops, ornamentals and soil sterilisation.

Mervyn Davies has expertise in ruminant livestock research and development and currently manages a group of consultants delivering livestock policy consultancy and research to government and its agencies.

Stephen Edge has expertise in poultry welfare and economics and currently manages a group of consultants delivering livestock policy advice to government clients.
